Executive Director A Seattle resident since 1978, Robb started working for C&C in 2000 and has over 20 years of administrative experience in both for-profit and nonprofit fields, including positions as foundation grant coordinator, athletic director, project manager, assistant director, and general manager. He holds a degree in music theory and performance from Miami University and was a professional trumpet player for many years. Robb had his first experiences with death and dying as musician in residence at Children's Hospital where he worked with several children who died of leukemia. Later he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, for three years to attend Simon Fraser University where he earned degrees in applied science and kinesiology (the study of human anatomy and physiology related to movement) and certification in health and wellness studies. In 2005, Robb received the esteemed Hugh Gallagher Award, given to a person within the choice-in-dying movement who has been the most effective in bringing people of diverse backgrounds into our organization.
Director of Development/Assistant Director Tom joined C&C in July of 2006. Tom brings a wealth of experience in community organizing, development, and member outreach. His first involvement in the social justice world was with Washington Citizen Action (WCA), where he spent over five years as a community organizer and canvasser. Tom also worked for the Washington Defender Association and the Center for Environmental Law and Policy. Most recently, he spent a year as a stay-at-home father with his son, Oliver. Tom holds a B.A. degree in creative writing and English from Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. and is secretly planning to write a series of children's books.
Office Manager Amber comes to us from a Pierce County-based organization, Mentoring Children of Promise, which works to provide mentors for children of prisoners. She has been involved in the nonprofit world since high school, when she was asked to serve on the board of a Wyoming-based organization. Amber holds a B.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Puget Sound and traveled extensively through Asia as part of her education. She is working toward a Master's in Social Work at the University of Washington.
